You guys are off the hook, Kiala!

The appraisal just posted and we're in the clear. Even better, it came in 10k higher than we needed. So we get to refinance, consolidate a bunch of shit, get our new furnace, paint the house, AND fucking watch BSG.

I think I need to change my pants now.

Oh, and Melissa? I don't think anybody could possible write a more compelling ad for Padres baseball than you just did. I think *I* just became a Padres fan.

I know nothing about sports because I'm a Padres fan. That's baseball, I know. But being a Padres fan involves a lot of sitting around in the warmth and drinking beer while your team loses. It's spoiled me for all other sports.

Deja fucking vu...

Left the office 30 minutes early today, got to my stop three seconds too late again, and the same shitty guitar player is sitting here playing the same shitty tune as yesterday, though now he's singing Violent Femmes' 'American Music' today. That's right. Same music, different words.

I hate him and his happy guitariness.

God knows I hate Stephen A. Smith, but I heard him blabbing about this Knicks this morning and God help me if I didn't agree with him. He said that ditching Isiah wouldn't be enough, that they just need to go ahead and fire everyone involved with that organization from the top down through the kids who wipe up the sweat from the court.

That's exactly what Portland did, too, and it helps. I don't know about NY fans, but we just plain got sick of leading the league in technical fouls and registered sex offenders year after year. I actually boycotted my beloved team until the beginning of this season, refusing to watch until every last player from those teams was gone.

Ok, so technically Darius Miles isn't gone yet, but it's only a matter of time. Nobody in this city wants to see him put on a Blazer uniform again (nobody, 'cept maybe the strippers).

I am a Knicks guy, but I hated the trade. I mean, we both could go on and on about the Knicks, but it'll just make me want to kill Dolan even more.

The Blazers are heading in the right direction, you're lucky.

and Utah is very easy to like. Deron Williams is amazing.

Both Silja and I dig the NBA, though she's probably more excited about it this year since her team (Utah) is actually good. I, on the other hand, have the blessing/curse of being a Trail Blazer fan*. Of course, I'll take this .500 team over the Jail Blazer squads of the past decade 8 days a week.

Gotta admit, though, the Jazz have grown on me. Always had a healthy respect for the team, but the current squad's really easy to like.

*If you're a Knicks guy, I'm sorry about Zach Randolph. Thought you were getting a steal there, huh? Numbers all looking good and all... Then suddenly his baggage arrives and it all goes to shit.

Missing the train is the worst!!!!

Also, no way you can get rid of cable before the playoffs are over. I can't wait, it's gonna be an insanely good playoffs this year, in the West that is.

Chris - Almost cried on the way home yesterday. Missed my train by three seconds, waited forever as 8.3 million of the other trains went by, then had to squeeze into the standing-room-only-single-car piece of shit that finally came 20 minutes later. Listening to that dude singing "Stray Cat Strut" the whole time. I should have peed on him.

Kiala - I think we'll be ok for the next couple of months. I'm under strict orders not to touch the cable thing until the end of the NBA season. That gives me until mid-June or so at the earliest.

After that, though, you and Dane might have to expect guests. We'll bring booze.

You can totally come over and watch it with us whenever. But not this Friday, we are going to Portland Wrestling with friends. But after that, yes. Anytime.
